This course will deliver the three units of competency required by the Clean Energy Council for grid-connect accreditation for electricians.

Those who may already be accredited but wish to update their skills are welcome to enrol in this course too. Glen is a member of the Australian Standards Committee that produces AS/NZS 5033 and AS 4777 – the standards for grid-connected solar installations. Please contact the CEC to confirm your eligibility for CPD points for this course.

Course description
The grid-connect skill set offered by Skillbuild Training has been designed for licensed electricians who want to obtain accreditation from the Clean Energy Council (CEC). This will enable them to access incentives offered by the Federal Government for solar panel installations. The course on offer meets the requirements of the regulating body, the Clean Energy Council, for accreditation.
The training will be delivered through a combination of technical/theoretical training, and workshop practical training and assessment. The course covers the essential knowledge and skills required to meet industry requirements. The training is carried out over 4 days (with some pre-course work required) and includes individual time with your trainer to collect evidence for Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer if applicable.
Outcomes
Upon completion you will be able to apply for accreditation with the Clean Energy Council. Accreditation allows you to:
- Create STC’s for your customers
- Access feed-in tariffs offered by supply authorities
- Make installation costs lower for your customers
- Follow a recognised code for installation
- Use the Clean Energy Council logo on your advertising
- Access a restricted technical support website run by CEC
Units of Competency
The course units are those specified by the Clean Energy Council which will enable you to apply for accreditation if you successfully achieve the required competencies. The current requirements are for three units to be completed.

Applicants must have a current A grade electrical license: proof must be provided on enrolment.
